The Hilliard Press is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of a new book illustrated by Rachel Grant and written by our very own Jessa Rose Sexton!

Avedis: An Allegory for All Ages is a story intended for everyone—no matter their age—to be able to learn from the journey our young protagonist embarks on. 

The author herself shares that she “hope[s] this book helps people see that often the little ways we show love make the biggest impact on others.”

The name Avedis means “one who brings good news,” and when Avedis stumbles upon a box filled with radiant light, he wants nothing more than to do just that! To bring the good news of his discovery to everyone! Along his journey, however, he learns what it truly means to be a light to others.

Jessa further shares, “I wrote the book several years ago and just sat on it until I saw Rachel’s illustrations. I felt she could bring Avedis to life in ways I hadn’t even imagined yet—and she did just that! This first illustration (which will be the cover of the book) brings a burst of joy to my spirit every time I see it.”

Rachel’s illustrations spring Adevis’s story to life, bringing even more light to his beautiful journey. 

While the title and release date of this book aren’t final, we wanted to go ahead and share this exciting news with you because we can’t wait to see where Adevis’s adventure takes all of you!
